Opportunities exist for creating new high value, revenue involving
Information Exchanges. Automating the exchange of transactions
provides benefits for all parties involved.
- The time to complete a business transaction is reduced, speeding the pace of business
- The rate of errors from manual processes is reduced or eliminated
- The per transaction processing costs are dramatically reduced
Along with this is a growing acceptance of outsourcing processes in
the form of external business services. There is a growing
recognition that some services — particularly those dealing with
multi-enterprise processes — are best handled externally. This shift
from proprietary processes performed within the Enterprise to shared
processes provided by third parties brings significant new wave of
business opportunity to those Service Providers who provide an
Information Exchange.
Quickly creating an Information Exchange that can be easily
adapted enables Service Providers to pursue new opportunities,
increase business with existing customers, and win new customers.
As an Information Exchange matures, Service Providers must also
enhance existing services to meet the growing and increasingly
complex requirements. Often, the technology initially used is
limited in its ability to meet these new requirements cost-
effectively.
